どうか忘れないで下さい.....私と貴方の大切な約束。






（１）My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years.
Any separation from you will be painful for me.
Remember that before you get alone with me.

なるべく私と一緒にいて欲しい。
私の一生は大体１０年〜１５年、あなたよりとっても短いのです。
あなたと離れることが私にとって一番つらいこと、
どうか、私と暮らす前にそのことをよく考えて下さい。





（２）Give me time to understand what you want of me.

あなたが私に何を求めているのか、、私がそれを理解できるまで少し時間を下さい。





（３）Place your trust in me- it's crucial to my Well-being.

私を信頼して欲しい････それだけで私は幸せ。





（４）Don't be angry at me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.
You have your work, your entertainment and your friends.
I have only you.

私を長い間叱ったり、罰として閉じ込めたりしないで欲しい。
あなたには沢山の用事があって、楽しみがあって、友達もいるかもしれない。
けれど、私にはあなたしかいないのです。





（５）Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words,
I understand your voice when it's speaking to me.

私に話しかけて欲しい。
言葉は分からなくても、あなたの気持ちはきっと分かるから。





（６）Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it.

知って欲しい。
あなたが私にどんな風に接したか、私は全部覚えていることを。





（７）Remember before you hit me that l have teeth that could
easily crush the bones of your hand but that I choose not to bite you.

私を殴ったり、いじめたりする前に覚えておいて欲しい。
私は、鋭い牙であなたを傷つけることが出来るにもかかわらず、
あなたを傷つけないと決めていることを。





（８）Before you scold me for being uncooperative obstinate or lazy,
ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
Perhaps I'm not getting the right food or I've been
out in the sun too long or my heart is getting old and weak.

私にもちゃんと理由があります。
言うことを聞かないだとか、頑固だとか、怠けているからといって叱る前に、
私が何かで苦しんでいないか、困っていないか、考えて欲しい。
食事に問題があるかもしれないし、長い間日光に当たり過ぎていたのかも、
もしかしたらあなたが知らないだけで、怪我や病気なのかもしれません。





（９）Take care of me when I get old ; you, too, will grow old.

たとえ私が年老いても、「邪魔だ」「めんどくさい」なんて言わないで。
あなたも同じように年を取るのです。





（10）Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch it .
" or " Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember I love you.

最後のその時まで一緒にいて欲しい。
｢もう見ていられない。｣、｢一緒にいたくない。｣などと言わないで。

あなたが隣にいてくれることが私を幸せにするのですから。

忘れないで下さい、私はあなたを愛しています。
